This shoot was a collaborative effort between ChrisFix, MK Sportscars, and myself — bringing together YouTube’s biggest car maintenance creator with one of the most unique kit car manufacturers in the UK.
The planning phase focused on creating high-impact visuals that would serve dual purposes:
Supporting ChrisFix’s cinematic YouTube content
Giving MK Sportscars a polished library of visuals for promotional use
I handled location planning, creative direction, shoot list prep, and logistics. Our vision was to combine raw, real-world visuals with a cinematic edge — showcasing both the build process and the car's dynamic presence on the road. Timing was tight and everything needed to be captured in natural light across one day, so pre-production precision was key.
On shoot day, the goal was to stay agile while capturing both high-end cinematic footage and engaging social content.
I used a hybrid setup of handheld, tripod, and drone shots to cover multiple angles — including motion, detail, and environmental wide shots. The focus was on visual storytelling: not just the car, but the people behind it, the reactions, the engineering, and the energy of the day.
We shot continuously across build bays, test drives, and feature spots, adjusting on the fly to weather and lighting shifts. From slow gimbal passes of the interior to wide drone tracking over open roads, the final footage reflected the collaboration at its best: fast-paced, detailed, and purposeful.
"Perspective changes everything."
This overhead drone footage captured the full scope of what we were working with — from the angular geometry of the MK Sportscars chassis to the sweeping motion of the test drive.
The aerial shots weren’t just about scale, but story — placing the vehicle in its environment, showing movement, space, and momentum in a way nothing else could. These clips helped tie the entire cinematic together, creating cohesion between grounded detail and broader vision.
